You ever noticed that in ship battles the cannon never hits the target ?
Like they even target and aim 100% at the ship but the cannon ALWAYS drops somewhere around the ship but doesnt hit it

Garp sunk those three ships tho, that’s the only time I’ve seen a cannon hit it’s target

They only hit ships that are not important, important ships got plot armor surrounding them

or when its flashbacks of irrelevent fights

I guess it's because Canon can't be shooted from long distance and it happens because of wave too, both of the ship moves that's why this happens.

They dont have that many great sniper like Ussop. They cant aim properly.

The cannon does not ALWAYS drop around the ship. There were ton of times the cannon "ALMOST" hit the ship but the crew are great in defending the ship. Like how Luffy bounce them off, when Zoro cuts them, or when Sanji kicks 'em.

That's exactly what im tryna say , when the crew members are ready to defend the ship from cannons then they always on target but when they can easily destroy the ship with cannons they always drop at random places

In One Piece it is guranteed 98% chance you will miss every shots in a cannon and gun fight.
It's better that way because i don't want to see the sunny-go getting damage, it makes me remember all of merry's scars and bruise😭

Also bullets never hits the main characters when they are running,shotguns have no recoil, soldiers uses shotgun to shoot targets from far away(anime logic)

I also thought of it too. I guess the justification they got is the firing ships keep moving/floating in the water so doesn't keep in one place. And as we all know, canons are stiff weapons, not nearly flexible enough to shoot accurately while moving. So even after targeting fully, it doesn't guarantee sure hit while on water. ⛵🏴‍☠️
